The West Mesa Mustangs are coming off one of their best seasons in over 20-years. At, (17-11, 4-4) the Mustangs made the Elite Eight, playing in the PIT.

Overview: Head coach Shonn Schroer has one of the hardest tasks in building a program that has lost kids, or population to brand new high schools Volcano Vista and Atrisco Heritage. Schroer, had one of his best teams last season, graduate some talent but have a foundation moving forward in 2015-2016. Most of what this season success' will be on the shoulders of Drew Wassana (2016) a forward/wing that averaged 15.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game leading the team.

Last Season
Record: 17-11, 4-4
Home Record: 6-3
Away Record: 6-4
Neutral Record: 5-4
Post Season: Elite Eight; Lost to Hobbs (72-47)
Points per game: 56.4 (1581)
Points against: 53.6 (1501)

Realistic Prediction: It will be hard to duplicate an Elite Eight run for the Mustangs who graduated their point guard. Wassana, is a top talent, likely one of the best players in the Metro area this coming season (if the rumor is false that he has transferred) he could have them in any contest this season. For this team we have them at 15-19 wins, closer to 15, and a First Round Game for our realistic prediction.

District Champ: 40%
Playoff Team: 70%
Elite Eight: 15%
Final Four: 5%
Title Game: 1%

Returning Players: Wassana was huge for the Mustangs last season, after him they graduate plenty of what they did in 2014-2015 and plenty of holes need to be filled. Ray Griego, is the next scoring option after playing in 25 contests averaging 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
