Thursday’s results:
La Cueva 1, Sandia 0
Las Cruces 2, Gadsden 1
Onate 3, Mayfield 2
Atrisco Heritage 2, West Mesa 1
Manzano 3, Del Norte 0
Farmington 10, Miyamura 0
Academy 8, Moriarty 1
St. Pius 11, Grants 1
Lovington 3, Goddard 0
Roswell 11, Artesia 1
Centennial 10, Belen 0
Los Lunas 2, Chaparral 0
Valencia 3, Santa Teresa 1
Aztec 7, Piedra Vista 0
Hope Christian 9, Bloomfield 0
Socorro 3, Hatch Valley 1
Sandia Prep 2, Santa Fe Prep 0
East Mountain 3, Rehoboth Christian 2

La Cueva finishes undefeated in district and has a strong case for the No. 1 seed. Someone smarter than me can figure out whether Sandia or Eldorado will finish second on tiebreakers, as they split their games with each other and have the same goal differential in those games. Las Cruces wins its district.

Academy wins its district. Goddard’s loss to Lovington may knock the Rockets out of the playoffs, and if Goddard is out, Lovington is out as well.

Socorro wins its district.

Friday’s games:
Eldorado at Highland
Albuquerque High at West Mesa
Rio Grande at Valley
Cibola at Santa Fe
Hope Christian at Farmington
Moriarty at Grants
Sandia Prep at Bloomfield

Saturday’s games:
Carlsbad at Hobbs
Clovis at Alamogordo
Deming at Las Cruces
Sandia at Manzano
Los Alamos at Del Norte
Academy at St. Pius
Rio Rancho at Cleveland
Chaparral at Belen
Valencia at Los Lunas
Santa Teresa at Centennial
Ruidoso at NMMI

District 5-3A remains muddled going into the last day of the regular season. Santa Teresa (6-2-1) travels to Centennial (6-3) in a strange situation – one of those teams will finish first and the other will likely end up third. If Santa Teresa wins or draws, it will win the district, with Chaparral (5-3-1) finishing second (assuming the Lobos beat Belen) and Centennial third. If Centennial beats Santa Teresa, it will likely be 1) Centennial; 2) Chaparral; 3) Santa Teresa. Valencia (5-4) has been a top 10 team all year, but if they don't beat Los Lunas (4-5), they will fall to fifth place in the district and will be on the state tournament bubble.

As to 1-6A, Rio Rancho has clinched the title. Assuming Cibola (3-3-1) beats last-place Santa Fe, a Rio Rancho win over Cleveland (3-1-3) on Saturday would leave Cibola second, Volcano Vista (4-3-1) third and Cleveland fourth. If Cleveland beats Rio Rancho, the Storm would be second, Cibola third and Volcano Vista fourth. If Cleveland and Rio Rancho draw, it will be 2) Volcano Vista; 3) Cleveland; 4) Cibola.
