Just a reminder for all those Junior (soon to be senior) football players, the rules changed last year on when you can take "official" visits to schools.

This year you start taking official visits to schools from April 1st through June 23rd and/or again starting opening day of classes senior year.

Just some rules on official visits:

-- Maximum of 5 visits to D1 and D2 schools combined. (Official visits to JUCO, NAIA & D3 schools are unlimited.)

-- You may only take ONE official visit per institution, no matter the division.

-- Each official visit may be up to 48 hours long.

-- You will need to be registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center and provide your most recent high school transcript and a copy of an ACT or SAT test score prior to the visit

-- Official visits may not occur in conjunction with participation in a camp or clinic.

-- Official visits cannot be made until the opening day of class senior year, no matter what division. The date will vary depending on your school.

-- The school is allowed to pay for lodging, transportation, meals, and entertainment. That includes (1) round-trip transportation (rental car or airfare) for the student-athlete between home (or high school) and the campus, (2) you (and your parents) may receive 3 meals per day and (3) complimentary admissions to campus athletics events. (Each school differs in policy and budget.)

-- Official visits are not allowed to occur during recruiting dead periods.
