The travel budget for transporting Hobbs High School participants and staff is about $1.7 Million for the next school year. I would love to see a report on how many actual miles will be traveled per bus and per person for the year. I would also love to see the grand total of how many per person hours are spent on all of these trips. Along with how many class hours are missed. Not to mention the budget details for meals, housing, etc. These are staggering numbers for sure and with each mile there is an increased probability of problems or even disasters occurring. Hobbs High is not alone on this boat but I would doubt that any other school will have travel budgets as large. Should be interesting for sure. The team t-shirts for the Hobbs Eagles should read FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS!
