Yes, Lovington (Big School Division/3A) is a little down this season and they start the year 1-6 but this is a big game for the Demons. I think anytime you add a win over a Big School Division is a big win and resume builder come March. The Demons are one team that will be right there in 2A hoops.
Laguna-Acoma 89, Rehoboth 38
The Hawks are a dangerous team and returned a majority of what they did last season, the year they received the 1-seed in the tournament. The Hawks moved to (3-0) on the year. They were led by Anthony Carpio (No. 149 Top 150 Player Ranking in New Mexico) who had 25 points. Austin Jones 18 points and Josh Paytiamo 17 points were also leading scorers in double figures.
Santa Fe Prep 46, Ecalante 37
[/B]The Escalante Lobos 3-1 took on the Santa Fe High Blue Griffins 7-1 on the year as the two teams met for the first time on the year. Will Lenfestey had a game high 21 points and helped lead the last quarter charge as the Blue Griffens were able to overcome a losing deficit in the fourth quarter.
