No. 3 Gallup and No. 4 Grants
These two 5A teams met in the Gallup Tournament final this past weekend with the Bengals winning by seven points. Can 6-5 junior Richie Lucero and the Pirates get revenge at home?

No. 7 Bloomfield at No. 1 Hope Christian (Albuquerque, NM)
Bloomfield has racked up 10 wins so far this season. Can they prove themselves to be among the best in 4A?

Friday, Jan. 16th at 7pm
No. 3 Cibola (Albuquerque, NM) at No. 9 Gadsden
This is a good 6A matchup with Gadsden already at 10 wins, while Cibola is surging heading into district play. The Cougars have won five of their last six games thanks in large part to the stellar play from Christian Cunningham, Malik Liddel, and rising freshman guard Cameron Dixon. Cibola needs to rack up as many wins as possible before entering district play with Rio Rancho High, Cleveland, Volcano Vista, and Santa Fe High - all of which have winning records.

No. 7 Volcano Vista (Albuquerque, NM) at No. 6 Carlsbad
Another solid 6A matchup for Friday evening with the Hawks traveling down to Carlsbad, who sits at 10-3 with only two losses to NM teams (West Mesa and Roswell High). This could be an important game for seeding reasons, and Volcano Vista can't afford any non-district losses heading into District 1 play.

No. 1 (in 5A) Centennial (Las Cruces, NM) at No. 8 (in 6A) West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM)
Centennial already has wins against 6A giants Hobbs and Cleveland, along with a win against Roswell High. Can West Mesa bounce back from a 3-game losing skid at the APS Metro Tournament?

Saturday, Jan. 17th at 2:30pm
No. 7 Volcano Vista (Albuquerque, NM) at No. 1 Hobbs
The Hawks have their work cut out for them with this weekend's slate of games. Hobbs is averaging nearly 84 points per game behind seniors Kelvin Jones, Troy Nelson, and Josh Ruiz.

No. 1 (in 5A) Centennial (Las Cruces, NM) at No. 4 (in 6A) Albuquerque High
Centennial will face a one-loss Albuquerque High team following their matchup with West Mesa. The Bulldogs will look to Gabe Bump and Alonzo Armijo to lead them against a well-rounded Centennial team that features Cesar Molina, Omar Baez, and Joe Satterfield.

No. 6 Farmington High at No. 5 St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM)
This is an important seeding game for these two teams. St. Pius X has already earned an impressive win over 4A West Las Vegas and looks to make a case as one of the top teams in all of 5A. Farmington High is coming off a bad loss to 4A Kirtland Central. How will Max Pinon and the Scorpions respond?
