APS Metro Tournament Semifinals and Final[/B] Friday and Saturday, January 9th and 10th.

[/B]
Top-seeded Cleveland takes on Atrisco Heritage Academy in one of the semifinal matchups. Cleveland beat Highland and Valley by five points to advance to the semifinals. Atrisco defeated La Cueva and upset West Mesa to remain alive for a championship birth at The Pit.
Cibola, who has been hit or miss all season, handed Albuquerque High their first loss of the season in one of the opening round

matchups, helping them advance to the semifinals of the APS Metro Tournament. The Cougars defeated Rio Grande in the opening round of the tournament. Rio Rancho continued their solid play by beating Sandia and Hope Christian to face up a showdown with Brady Patterson and the Rams.

The championship game will be held in The Pit at 6pm on Saturday. The third-place game will also be in The Pit at 9am on Saturday.

Thursday, January 8th
Grants will head to Artesia in a potentially important game for seeding purposes come March. Hondo Valley, who is undefeated at 9-0 this season, plays at Cloudcroft.


Friday, January 9th
Hobbs will travel to Gadsden in a rematch of the Capitol City Tournament final. Hobbs is coming off two monster back to back wins against Lovington and Goddard. West Las Vegas will host 3A Clayton later this week. Santa Fe High will take on Taos in an interesting Class 6A vs. Class 4A match up, Onate is on the road against Alamogordo in a game that has seeding implications.


Saturday, January 10th
Dulce heads to Laguna Acoma this weekend. Laguna is undefeated in-state, but had three losses during their trip to California last week for a tournament. Santa Fe Prep travels to Tucumcari. Tucumcari is currently on a seven-game win streak. Can they keep it alive against Ian Andersson and the Blue Griffns?


The Hobbs Eagles are on the road against Mayfield, interested to see what the Trojans can do against Hobbs' defense. Carlsbad is at Onate in a very big marquee Class 6A game, and Clovis makes the short drive to Roswell.
