Thursday Night Preview - Manzano takes on La Cueva in Marquee 6A Match Up
By: Kyle Henderson of NMPreps.com

Manzano 5-4 vs. La Cueva 2-7
Huge playoff implications from the outcome of this game. If Manzano wins, Eldorado is the District 2-6A Champ by way of the 13-point rule. If La Cueva upsets Manzano, Sandia wins the district and it could potentially end the Monarchs’ season. Last week the Monarchs lost to Eldorado 40-21, La Cueva defeated Highland 42-6.

Santa Teresa 1-8 @ Centennial 9-0
The Desert Warriors have the tall task of taking on the No. 2 overall ranked team in New Mexico on Senior Night for the Hawks. This could be a short game ending at half. Quarterback Dante Lopez has thrown for 26 touchdowns, Keath Jasson has rushed for 652-yards, Junior Pena has caught for 662-yards, Bryce ReWalt has caught for 550-yards, Jake Boykin has 60 tackles.

Valley 2-7 vs. Rio Grande 0-9
Both teams are out of the playoffs, but this is North Valley vs. South Valley and it’s a rivalry game neither team wants to lose. Expecting the Vikings to roll by 3 touchdowns or more. Watch for Elijah Naranjo to break the state record for most receptions in a season.

West Mesa 3-6 vs. Albuquerque 4-5
Two teams that are out of the playoffs, but it’s senior night for both teams. West Mesa lost to Atrisco Heritage last weekend 33-18, Albuquerque defeated Rio Grande 55-0.
