TONIGHT'S KEY GAMES

#8 Cleveland at #14 Rio Rancho
Cleveland (15-6; 2-1) will head into this rivalry game with all intents to make life miserable for Rio Rancho (12-9; 2-1). Both teams are tied at the moment for second, but the winner will take the lead along with second place in district heading into the second half of district play. Rio Rancho has lost 5 of their last 7 games, but found some relief with wins over Atrisco and Cibola. It'll take more than a big game from Laura Gutierrez given Cleveland's Caldwell and Harriott's harassing defense. It's a tough middle of the week game and this one could be out of hand by halftime.

Cibola at #15 Eldorado
Eldorado (8-11; 0-4) needs some relief after coming up winless so far in district. This game against Cibola is one the Lady Eagles need to maybe get back on track and regroup before diving back into their district on Saturday at PV. Cibola (4-15; 0-4), also need a win after losing nine straight. If it turns into a grind out game, I like Eldorado's odds given their size and grit, but if Cibola comes out throwing punches from beyond the perimeter and in transition, this could get interesting. Eldorado really can't afford the loss, because it can hurt their rankings for seeding purposes. Deming and Las Cruces will be Cibola fans for this one.
