Best & Worst Case Scenario: Albuquerque Bulldogs

NMPreps.com gives a full breakdown of each game for all teams in New Mexico high school football.

WEEK-BY-WEEK

Week 1: Saturday, August 22nd, Time 1:00pm
-at Onate High School (Las Cruces, NM)

Score Prediction: Loss, 24-21. The Bulldogs have a shot at winning this game and their fans will likely say they should be the favorite in this contest. Onate is coming off a 1-9 overall (1-5 district) season and the Dogs are fresh off a 5-5 overall season. Record 0-1, 0-0

Game Type: Coin Flip.

Week 2: Friday, August 28th, Time 7:00pm
- at Highland High School (Albuquerque, NM)

Score Prediction: Win, 25-18. The Highland Hornets are coming off one of their best of the decade (6-5 overall; Made the State Playoffs) and only graduate five players. However, the Albuquerque Bulldogs who I believe went is an underdog in 2019 won 21-9 at Milne Stadium. They will be the favorite this season and could win comfortable. Record 1-1 overall, 0-0 district

Game Type: Favorite.

Week 3: Thursday, September 3rd, Time 7:00pm
- vs Del Norte High School (Albuquerque, NM)

Score prediction: Win, 22-15. The Knights are transitioning with a new head coach in 2020. Yes, they have some studs returning but we give the edge here to Albuquerque High and what they return along with one very underrated HC in Tim Johnson who does a phenomenal job. Record 2-1 overall, 0-0 district.

Game Type: Coin Flip

Week 4: Friday, September 11th, 7pm (Homecoming)
- vs Rio Grande High School (Albuquerque, NM)

Score Prediction: Win, 28-6. Albuquerque won 14-0 last season and that was to an improved Rio Grande Ravens team. However, Rio Grande, who stayed independent, could take a dip to graduation. Record 3-1 overall, 0-0 district.

Game Type: Favorite

Week 5: Thursday, September 17th, 7pm
- at Manzano High School (Albuquerque, NM)

Score Prediction: Loss, 30-13. Can the Bulldogs break through the ceiling this season? If you following along each season, we predicted the Dogs would go 2-8 last season and they went 5-5. Now, the goal I believe is winning a game against one of the top three pyramid teams. This is also the Bulldogs first time back in a district after spending time as an independent. Record 3-2 overall, 0-1 district.

Game Type: Underdog

Week 6: Thursday, September 24th, 7:00pm
- at Eldorado High School (Albuquerque, NM)

Score Prediction: Loss, 35-9. We talked about breaking into the next pyramid. The Eagles and the new district gives them several opportunities. The Eagles have a lot returning and could be a handful on this Thursday night. Elias Franco (2022) had one of his best games last season as a sophomore tossing for 3-touchdowns. Record 3-3 overall, 0-2 district.

Game Type: Underdog

Week 7: Friday, October 2nd, 7:00pm
- vs Clovis High School (Clovis, NM)

Score Prediction: Loss, 49-6. The Clovis Wildcats are a favorite to win it all in 2020. Could be a long night for the Bulldogs taking on a team in the section 1 pyramid teams for the coming season. Record 3-4 overall, 0-3 district.

Game Type: Underdog

Week 8: Thursday, October 8th, 7:00pm
- at Sandia High School (Albuquerque, NM)

Score Prediction: Loss, 22-16. Sandia enters their second season under head coach Chad Adcox. Sandia reached the 6A playoffs last season and will only get better, although they could be a transition period and why we kept it close. If they want to break into section III this could be that win. Record 3-5 overall, 0-4 district.

Game Type: Underdog/Coin. This one could shift to a coin flip later in the season.

Week 9: Friday, October 23rd, 7:00pm
- vs Santa Fe High School (Santa Fe, NM)

Score Prediction: Loss, 18-15. Both teams are looking to earn some respect as new members in 6A football and in a new district. This is a major coin flip game and the one to keep out of the cellar. Today, the edge goes to SF on a final FG. Record 3-6 overall, 0-5 district.

Game Type: Coin Flip.

Week 10: Thursday, October 29th, 7:00pm
- vs La Cueva High School (Albuquerque, NM)

Score Prediction: Loss, 38-6. La Cueva High School has been one of the best teams in 6A the last two years. In 2020 they'll still be good and have things in a great place even though they need to replace some players. Record 3-7 overall, 0-6 district.

Game Type: Underdog.

ALBUQUERQUE: Best-Case Scenario (5-5 overall, 1-5 district); Worst-Case Scenario (2-8 overall, 0-6 district); Over/Under (3.5)

Below you will find the complete breakdown, score prediction and best/worst case for the 2020 Albuquerque High Bulldogs.

The good news: The Bulldogs will start the season with four coin flip/favorite games. They have five of those games on the schedule with a sixth possibility in district play pending how good Sandia will be, although that still feels like a stretch beating a pyramid section III team.

NMPreps.com 2020 Prediction: 3-7 overall, 0-6 district
