Scoop: Things are starting to settle into place. We did have a couple of upsets during the week with Cibola beating Volcano Vista, days after Volcano Vista gave Cleveland their first loss. Other news this week was Clovis falling to Pecos, however, if you know Pecos this is one of the premier basketball powers. Atrisco Heritage is also back in the Power-16 with a win over Rio Rancho in OT (49-46). The bubble is going to bring so much entertaintment and can't wait to break the NMPreps.com's Road to the PIT later today.

NM Coaches Association Hall of Fame

Tonight Coaches from the past will be inducted into the NM Coaches Hall of Fame. For the Young Coaches on here or the new posters not really locked into the history and legacy of some of these, I would like to introduce you to one. Don Rodie is my good friend. He Coached at Lovington as Assistant Football and Head Boys and Girls Track. He was my son's D-Line Coach for 3 years. In 1990 3 of his front 4 made 1st team All State. In total he coached 17 State Championship teams. The greatest compliment I can make any Coach is to say "You can coach my son" Don Rodie could and did coach my son. Congrats to The Old German and tonight Speedy Faith will be introducing you at the induction.

New: Onate (11), Farmington (12)
Next: Deming

Scoop: The NMPreps.com's weekly team rankings in New Mexico high school basketball. Things have settled on the girls side of things, like in 5A boys basketball. Farmington is new but their 2 point loss to the third ranked La Cueva team acts more in a positive than the two teams that fell out of the power-12. The most intriguing aspect about 5A girls basketball and what we've learned over the course of January is that we have a deep field with 5 up to 10 teams that could make a run and win it all.
