Opening day...

Does NMSU Break through to a Regional with a couple two or three nationally ranked recruiting classes in a row?

Lobos are young...but do they continue to compete for another regional? Can they beat some Power 5 teams consistently during non conference?

Is this Texas Tech’s year to make a real push to win the National Championship? Just getting to Omaha isn’t the goal this year in Lubbock.

NFHS Changes Uniform Rule

Got an email from the NFHS about switching the color system for home and away teams beginning in 2018. (https://www.nfhs.org/articles/homevisiting-uniforms-to-switch-in-high-school-soccer/)

Home teams will now wear DARK colored uniforms,
Visitors will now wear the WHITE uniforms.

Reasons given:
"allows home teams to wear their school-color jerseys at home," &
"provide the opportunity to use an alternative color uniform for special events.”

I see this as a move to be more in line with football, but I guess it doesnt matter much. Things like Pink Week can be celebrated at home without getting clearance.

There were other changes clarifying offsides, handballs, bench clearances, and kickoff direction.

EDIT: ANR - I didnt see your post on the Football forum about this same thing. Sorry.

New Mexico State Wins but It Was Ugly Basketball

I was at the Aggie Basketball game on Saturday and was impressed with the never quit attitude of the Ags. I will say this..they have no chance in the NCAA tourney if they dont start palying better. They have not shot the ball well in three weeks but mind ya they are still winning. Against better quality teams this will not happen.
Will also say the officiating in that game was horrible for both teams bur NMSU got he advantage there. GO AGGS>>>>

Final: New Mexico State 74, Grand Canyon 70

Pants

We received some Nike Game Pants that were the wrong color. The company we ordered them from told us to keep them. They are high pants with a navy pinstripe down the side & a navy Nike logo on them. Normally $45, we are wanting to sell them to any school interested for $23.50. 20 pairs, never been opened. Let me know if you're interested.

Link to what they look like.

Sleepers: Kirtland Central Broncos

Sleeper Series: Kirtland Central Broncos

Record (2/15): 16-9 overall, 7-2 district
Who's left on their schedule: Gallup (2/16)

Players:
Bryson Dowdy (2018) was a player to watch last season, shoot his been one that we've heard about for the last three years. He is scoring 14.2 points per game this season and one of the better players that we don't hear enough about. He is one of those hustle, plenty of intangibles, type of player that does well in March.

Where:
(8-13 Seed). The Sleeper Series looks at the teams that are not in the conversation for the title. Should some be? Yes. However, I don't think we have a NMPrep member who would take the Broncos. However, the Broncos were the team that nearly (should) have knocked out the 1-seed Roswell Coyotes last season, who went on to win it all. They'll be on the road, like they were last season (beat Artesia on the road in the opening round), and they could be a headache for that host.

Why:
Dowdy but this team moves the ball very well and have an inside presence in 2017 State Tournament name to know - Nathan Enoah. Enoah is around 7 points per game this season but he came alive in the post season in 2017 and likely that could happen in 2018. Add Jarriah Setzer and Terrin Willie and you have a foursome that has a chance to shake things up.

Note: Sleepers series looks at teams that could upset or make a Final Four run in the 2018 State Tournament.
