3A 1st Round Preview

Class 3A 1st Round Preview

No. 16 Capitan @ No. 1 Lordsburg
Preview: Lordsburg has been rolling all year. No one expected them to be the one seed though. Watch for Johnny Plowman.

No. 9 Laguna @ No. 8 Texico
Preview: Don't count Laguna out just yet. The Hawks have wins over teams like Pecos and Texico. Texico has enough experience and played in a loaded district, thus edge to the Wolverines.

No. 12 Santa Rosa @ No. 5 Mesilla Valley
Preview: Mesilla Valley looks like a dangerous team and could make a final four run. First they take on a Lions team that has been up and down all year. Upset chances are low, but not out of the question.

No. 13 Navajo Prep @ No. 4 Pecos
Preview: Pecos has to be hungry entering the tournament after losing to Estancia last week. They have a great resume. Watch for Senior Standout Jason Henderson who made our All April Team.

No. 14 Clayton @ No. 3 Raton
Preview: The Tigers don't have the best record, but have played one of the toughest schedules and might be the best overall team in 3A. Look for a big statement in the opening round by Raton.

No. 11 Tucumcari @ No. No. 6 Estancia
Preview: Best match up in the first round. The Bears have already beat Tucumcari twice this year, but the Rattlers have enough quality pitching to pull the upset. Expecting a low scoring extra inning game.

No. 10 Tularosa @ No. 7 Dexter
Preview: another tough match up to predict today. Each team has quality wins and likely just a game that comes down to execution. Dexter had the edge, but it could really go either way.

No. 15 Santa Fe Prep @ No. 2 Eunice
Preview: Prep makes the long trip to play on one of the most beautiful fields In New Mexico. Eunice has not played their best ball yet, which is scary for the comp.

Teacher Evaluations

I saw today that Teacher evaluations are out and the number of effective teachers decreased. It's interesting to say the least how scores are calculated. What I find hilarious is that in the article they say something to the effect that teachers are more accepting of the evaluations system over last year. WE HAVEN'T SEEN THE RESULTS!
Anyway, here is the article.
