Notes: Grants earned the HUGE win on Tuesday night with a dominant performance over Belen, 11-1 to take possession of second place in district 5-4A. The Grants win also created a movement for several teams moving up and for some into the top-8 section. Miyamura has also made a movement this week, from team on the outside as the "17th" team to the 11-seed this week; Kirtland Central's late fall has them on the outside of the playoff.

Notes: The District 4-5A race will affect the 3-8 section with three teams possibly earning a first-round home game (top-8 host the first round).

Work to Do: The 4-4A district will also shake things up as we finish the final month of regular season/district play. Goddard and Artesia could become a first round nightmare for any team that draws them, possibly on the road.

Just watched Matt Moore (Moriarty) pitch to Alex Bregman (Academy), a couple innings after Mitch Garver (La Cueva) hit an HR.

According to James Yodice of the journal, Gerry Pannoni has resigned as head coach of Rio Rancho. Yodice also noted his wife passed away after battling MSA recently. Prayers go out to the Pannoni family.

I know we have the current limit at the end of a certain amount of innings.

However, should there be a time limit? Each inning last a certain amount of time if a team is winning by more than 5 runs or 6-8.

Should there be an inning limit -- example being that if you score 9 runs in an inning that inning ends. (some of these 27-0; 35-0 games are brutal).

Preview: The Eagles enter the 2022 season with hopes of more consistency from the quarterback position. The Eagles split time between two quarterbacks but look to 2024 Brandon Olivas who threw for 500-yards and 7-touchdowns last season. Olivas had a key showing going 17 of 23 for 180-yards and 2-touchdowns in his first start. The big question will be replacing a 1,000-yard rushing and filling that hole will turn to 2023 Mark Pacheco or 2024 John Paul Ludi both of which should enter the season with the nod at taking the role. The defense also take a hit to graduation and it'll be Matt Pacheco leading the group into the 22 season. He had 84-total tackles last season.

Predictions: 5-5 overall. The Eagles will be in a battle this season as they enter it with some experience on offense but a new defense could cause for a slow start. Must wins are Atrisco, PV, Clovis, Farmington and West Mesa. Key/Resume wins would be Cibola and Sandia.
