Inital thoughts watching Alabama football

Well to say the least them boys down in the SEC do not play around. I know why they win all the time. I have never seen a 260 pound linebacker chase down a WR from behind. I was watching Saban chew out the secondary in warm ups for not doing the drill the right way that man has an intensity about him that you can see and feel. That Jalen Hurts kid is the real deal too

Most Likely To Upset. Week Three Games To Watch
Grine of NMPreps.com

Each week we try to determine the 5 (or more) games that have the best chance for an upset. Typically, we are looking that team that is not given much of a chance to win - not a coin flip game.

POSSIBLE UPSET WATCH

No. 28 West Mesa (1-1) over No. 12 Volcano Vista (1-1): One week ago we wouldn't have even considered this to be an opportunity for an upset. However, the Volcano Vista Hawks didn't show well against the Eldorado Eagles losing 45-24. The Hawks struggled against a solid defensive showing by the Eagles and West Mesa could have an underrated defensive that could focus on skill players for the Hawks. However, if they want to pull the upset they will have to be near perfect on defensive, a lot better than last week, and get their offense moving.

West Las Vegas (2-0) over No. 29 Portales (2-0): Yes, the Dons haven't faced a team remotely close to the Portales Rams. However, a 2-0 start is solid for this school but it will need put points on the board against a stout Portales defense. Keep the game low, not let it get away early and take it to the fourth quarter.

No. 22 Cibola (0-2) over No. 11 Manzano (1-1): Cibola could be the team that is "desperate" for a win this week, a loss could spiral the season out of control (yes, this early). They didn't show up on offense being shutout 21-0 last week to Las Cruces after a close loss to La Cueva in the opening game in which the offense was solid for 80% of the night. The Cougars need to keep it low scoring to have an upsets chance. Manzano needs to play four solid quarters to avoid the upset. Still seems like a team that will only get better but can't afford a hiccup. Potential bubble game.

Santa Fe (0-1) over No. 32 Capital (0-2): Not many will consider taking this as an upset game but if I had to pick on the 5-list today, this one might peak my interest. Santa Fe showed fight against St. Michael's in the opener and has an 0-2 Capital team that will either continuing to wake from the slow start, the offense seems to have engines on, or Santa Fe could snap the losing streak. Will be low scoring so it will come down to avoiding break out runs, limiting running backs from getting opportunity in the red zone and moving the chains themselves if they want to upset.

No. 33 Valley (0-2) over No. 16 Alamogordo (1-1): If any team wants to upset the best time to get them is when they are down. Alamogordo loses a close one at home last week and now is the chance for the Vikings to sneak up and get them while their wings are clipped. However, if they want any chance they have to score. They can't let afford getting in a shootout with Alamogordo because the Tigers have the better offense. Like last weeks loss Valley will need to keep the Tigers in the 20's if they want any chance. They haven't done so yet but might be an opportunity after an emotional loss.

OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK - JOSH FOLEY, RIO RANCHO

The number one ranked Rio Rancho Rams and one of the top running backs in New Mexico were phenomenal on Friday night. The Rams beat a top team from El Paso in Americas High School moving to 2-0 on the season.

Running back Josh Foley who was unstoppable on the offensive side of the ball in week one, backed up the performance with a great showing on both sides of the ball in week two. Foley, had 3 touchdowns one of which was a 100-yard pick-six as a cornerback in the game. Although he was limited in action Foley's presence the opening two weeks has been huge. Foley scored on a 26-yard pass along with a 20-yard rushing touchdown.
