September 22 - vs Estancia - Underdog
October 6 - vs Capitan - Favorite
October 13 - at Hot Springs - Favorite
October 20 - vs Socorro - Underdog
October 27 - at Cobre - Underdog

2022 Record: 6-4-1 overall, 1-2 district

Best Case Scenario: 6-4 overall. The Bears will have a new head coach when the 2023 season kicks-off. The schedule is set up nicely with a shot at going .500. A pair of CF games -- Tularosa and Anthony (TX) -- will be the difference maker. Hope Christian could have been more of a true CF game after the two teams tied in 2022 but the Huskies currently have the the 77% chance at winning.

Worst Case Scenario: 4-6 overall. We discussed the two (maybe three) swing games for the Bears this season. They are favored against Laguna-Acoma (opening night), Chaparral, Capitan, and Hot Springs. As of now Chaparral is the only team that did come in with a higher preseason rankings. That could change before opening night.

Socorro 7on7 and Line Competition

Hello gentleman,
Socorro's 7on7 throw around will be as follows:
Small schools Thursday June 22nd at 10am.

Big schools start at 1:30pm.

Small schools will still get games in the afternoon if they would like, but will be spaced out.

Big schools should get plenty of games packed in the afternoon.

We plan to have a small school and big school lineman challenge.

Please let me know if you will be attending asap.

September 29th - at Clovis - COIN
October 6th - vs Los Lunas - UNDERDOG
October 14th - vs Capital - UNDERDOG
October 20th - at Santa Fe - FAVORITE
October 27th - at Manzano - FAVORITE

2022 Record: 3-7 overall, 1-3 district

Best Case Scenario: 4-6 overall. Very similar outcomes that happened in 2022 for 2023. The difference would be winning the COIN against Clovis, on the road. The two true favorites against Manzano and Santa Fe to end the season help for what is a tough September/early October slate.

Worst Case Scenario: 2-8 overall. Dropping the opener to Organ Mountain could determine the outcome of the rest of the season. New head coach for the Bulldogs but they have nice pieces returning. Right now we have them as a 65% chance at winning that opening (70%-75% makes it a FAV/CF level). The Dogs made a nice hire this off-season and could show improvements.

September 8th - vs Estancia - Coin Flip
September 15th - at Raton - Underdog
September 23rd - vs Mescalero Apache - Favorite
September 29th - vs Tularosa - Underdog
October 6th - at Laguna-Acoma - Favorite
October 14th - at McCurdy - Favorite
October 20th - vs Santa Rosa - Underdog

2022 Record: 5-6 overall, 2-1 district

Best Case Scenario: 7-3 overall. The Lobos dropped a few games that have turned into CF games in 2023. They also swapped out Navajo Prep in week three for Espanola this season. That game now turns into a UND/CF instead of what would have been a FAV game. Three key games that could get them over .500 -- Estancia, Raton, and WLV. Estancia and Raton both lose key players from 2022 and WLV although have talent returning will have a new HC and change could take time.

Worst Case Scenario: 4-6 overall. The schedule is a good mix. They have four games that put them as a favorite entering the season -- Tohatchi, Mescalero Apache, Laguna-Acoma, and McCurdy. The Lobos shutout three of the four last season with Laguna-Acoma hanging around (22-14). I like the players returning for the Lobos and should roll again against the four.

2022 Record: 11-1 overall, 3-0 district (State: Semifinals)

Best Case Scenario: 10-0 overall. The schedule strength improved a tad from last season. They replaced their opener from Pojoaque Valley to Robertson. Outside of that it's a very favorable schedule to run the table at 10-0 or 9-1. They had 7 shoutout wins last season and didn't allow a single point in district play. The Warriors are 19-1 in two seasons (regular season only).

Worst Case Scenario: 7-3 overall. The Warriors graduate plenty. This could be a reload type of season. Robertson provides a test on the opening night. Hope Christian and Miyamura should be improved although they will still be favored enter both. The biggest question is how well they can fill the void of do-everything ATH Marcus Armijo who graduated this spring.

10/6 -Highlands-Home - Underdog
*10/13-Moriarty-Away - Underdog
*10/20 -Taos -Home - Underdog
*10/27–Espanola-Away - Coin Flip

2022 Record: 0-9 overall, 0-3 district

Best Case Scenario: 4-6 overall. The schedule is more favorable than in 2022. They replaced Socorro (Navajo Prep), Portales (with Cloudcroft) and added Santa Fe Indian. If they can win the three new games along with a season end win over Espanola Valley could get them to 4-wins in 2023. New head coach Zeke Villegas provides some excitement to a program in need of resurgence.

Worst Case Scenario: 2-8 overall. Cloudcroft didn't play football in 2022 and Navajo Prep went 1-8 overall in 2022. Those two games will be key for the Elks program that went 0-9 last season. Both sides of the ball struggled and the coin flip or favorite games will help build some confidence for an offense that only scored 20 points in 2022.

CLOVIS
8/18 - vs Hobbs - Underdog
8/24 - at Canyon, TX (6pm) - Underdog/CF
9/1 - vs Randall, TX - Underdog
9/8 - vs Carlsbad - Underdog
9/16 - at Eldorado (1pm) - Coin Flip
9/22 - at Roswell - Underdog
9/29 - vs Albuquerque - Favorite/CF
10/6 - at Santa Fe - Favorite
10/20 - at Capital - Favorite
10/27 - vs Los Lunas - Underdog

2022 Record: 3-7 overall (3-1 district)

Best Case Scenario: 5-5 overall. The non-district schedule is difficult. Opening the season against Hobbs will be a quick test as the Eagles have been improving every year under Ken Stevens. The back-to-back weeks against Texas based teams Canyon and Randall will again provide a difficult slate. Carlsbad rolled to a 55-14 win last season but a coaching change could have it closer, the Cavemen are still a preseason favorite to win. Eldorado escaped last season, could the luck flip the Wildcats way? District is open for the taking. 4/5 wins is the best case.

Worst Case Scenario: 2-8 overall. Although they are a preseason favorite in three games, they can't afford a hiccup against Albuquerque, Santa Fe, or Capital along the way. They beat Albuquerque on a last second field goal in 2022 but that game swings back to Leon Williams Stadium (Clovis) in 2023. The big question will be making the potential DC game against Los Lunas, in Clovis, a battle in 2023.
