I generally don't say 'I told you so', but this time I will. On Feb. the 7th on the Breakout Player of the 2014 Season thread, I posted that Alex Howard will be that breakout player. Congrats on being named the Metro Baseball Player of the Year. Alex is a great kid from a wonderful family

Did anyone see the stat last night during the Tigers & Indians game? 20 pitchers whose average age is 27 are all receiving Tommy John surgery this season in MLB. Any thoughts as to why? I thought the explanation from Tom House was the best. He said young kids are pitching too much & not throwing & developing arm strength enough. Also too many kids are specializing all year round & their arms never get any time off. House said the best thing for young arms is to play another sport!! The majority of injuries are repetitive use injuries. What do you think?

Hi everyone.

Just want to share some info regarding TWO college ID camps down here at Santa Teresa HS.

June 16-17, 2014
Coaches from Chandler Gilbert CC out of Phoenix AZ will be hosting training sessions for both boys and girls that are graduating seniors and entering 9th graders. The cost is yet to be settled but looking at the $20-$40 range.

Later in the summer, there will be a GIRLS ONLY camp run by the coaching staff out of Otero County JC out of southern Colorado. That is shaping up to be a 3-day camp in the $40 range. Dates are still TBA due to facilities conflict.

We are still working with those respective programs to keep the cost low so that as many southern NM and El Paso kids can attend.

Please share with anyone who might be interested. Especially any 2014 & 2015 grads who maybe have not had any offers or options for next level play.
