Former Volcano Vista Player commits to UNM

El Paso Times:

Franklin guard Laneah Bryan committed to play basketball for the University of New Mexico Wednesday night, according to Cougars coach Marlee Webb.

Bryan also had an offer from the Air Force Academy.

The 5-foot-6 Bryan was a standout for two years at Franklin and was one of the best players in the city. She averaged 20.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.5 steals per game this season in leading the Cougars to a 21-5 record and to a District 1-5A championship with a 13-1 district record.

Bryan was named the El Paso Times' All-City MVP for the 2012-13 season and was named District 1-5A MVP this season. Before transferring to Franklin, she led Albuquerque Volcano Vista to a New Mexico Class 5A state championship in 2012 as a sophomore
