Hobbs Lady Eagle Coach Joey Carpenter was named the 2018 Girls Basketball Coach of the Year by the NM High School Coaches Association. He also won that title in 2016 when he led the Roswell Lady Coyotes to the 5A title. Two out of three years is outstanding. Congratulations to him.

Being a Bears fan, it’s been a while since I’ve had this much excitement heading into season. I realize that the NFC is loaded this year and that we’re prolly a year or two away from making a legit run. We got a new coach (again), who’s young and firey and have a young a talented defense led by Khalil Mack now. But we face Aaron Rodgers week 1 in Green Bay, So yikes! Cheers to a good season.
