Tuesday:
Los Alamos at St. Pius. St. Pius opens its season against 5-0 Los Alamos. Big early-season 5A game with state seeding implications.
Santa Fe Prep at Hope Christian. Another game with implications for seeding at state, this one in A-4A. Hope looks like the team to beat in that class this year, but SF Prep is the defending champ.
Sandia at Cibola. Both teams are off to poor starts, and one of them is going to take another L here in the APS Metro tournament.
Hobbs at Clovis. Rematch of the game two weeks ago which Hobbs won 1-0 in two overtimes.
Gadsden at Santa Teresa. Another rematch of rivals. ST won 3-0 on Gadsden's home field, the only loss for the Panthers thus far.
Cleveland vs. Volcano Vista. These teams are the top teams in 1-6A, and get an early look at each other in the Metro tournament.
Las Cruces at Alamogordo. These two teams missed each other at the LC tournament, but match up today.
Wednesday:
Albuquerque High vs. La Cueva. This Metro tourney semifinal is a rematch of last year's 6A state final, and both of these teams look like title contenders again this year. Some think La Cueva is the clear favorite in 6A this year, but AHS is loaded as well.
Academy vs. Valley. The other Metro tourney semi, and another strong matchup.
Thursday:
Piedra Vista at Miyamura. Piedra Vista is off to a 5-1 start and won the Aztec tournament last week. Miyamura is 3-2.
St. Pius at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Anyone have a scouting report on Our Lady of Good Counsel? This is part of a three-game trip that St. Pius is making to the Washington DC area.
Friday
Roswell tournament. This is usually a good tourney and a rare chance for some inter-sectional play. Capital will be there, and opens with Goddard.
APS Metro final. Will the AHS/La Cueva winner have a letdown, allowing the AA/Valley winner a chance to steal the title?
Saturday
Hope Christian at Piedra Vista. Hope has a pretty challenging schedule for an A-4A team, including this trip to play a 6A opponent.
