Centennial and Eldorado turns into an early resume game. Both are most likely playoff teams however, this one could put a team like Centennial at 1-4 searching for some needed wins.

Cleveland and West Mesa will play for the championship of the Phil Griego tournament. West Mesa coming off a big win over Carlsbad (56-54 OT) last night in the semifinals.

Del Norte and Organ Mountain down in Belen provide us with the game of the day. Next level talent in this contest and what could be a monster finish to the Hub City.

Eldorado enters the game ranked 8th/5A this week and Mayfield (1-3) is looking to regain some love in the rankings falling to 20th/5A this week but has played a demanding schedule. AC Munoz (Mayfield) and Caileb Parham (Eldorado) are the top-ranked players to watch in this game. Prediction: Eldorado 61, Mayfield 51.

Socorro (0-0) at Robertson (2-0), 1p: Dipping into 3A basketball, this game will put number one-ranked Robertson taking on 9th-ranked Socorro. Robertson is coming off a close 55-51 win last week but is now back to full-strength roster-wise. Prediction: Robertson 50, Socorro 41.

Preview: The Sandia Matadors and Highland Hornets give us a pair of blockbuster games on Wednesday night (at 7:30pm -- drink some coffee for a late night). What it features: Highland is ranked number one in 4A basketball and have top guard Alexis Dominguez (2023) averaging around 21 points per game. Sandia, ranked 4th in 5A, features Andrew Hill (2023), Dalen Moyer (2023) and Ely Lovato (2023). Hill is putting in 21.3 points per game and 4.3 assists. Prediction: Highland 66, Sandia 65

Rio Rancho (2-3) at Albuquerque (0-3)
Preview: The 12th ranked Rio Rancho Rams should move along with ease against a struggling Albuquerque High Bulldogs team (No. 25/5A). Junior wing Jayden Johnson is a new name on the scene and returns after dropping 15 points and 6 boards in the last outing. Prediction: Rio Rancho 68, Albuquerque 42

BIG THREE GAMES

Atrisco Heritage (3-1) at Los Lunas (5-0): Six meet five in our latest NMPreps weekly 5A team rankings. Los Lunas is coming off a championship at the Artesia City of Champions tournament last weekend. Atrisco Heritage, battling some roster adjustments, enters the contest coming off a resume win over Eldorado. Plenty of star power in this game. Los Lunas features Jalin Holland (2025), Geleio Griego (2023), and Ezra Guest (2023). Atrisco with Chris Parra (2023), Marquise Renfro (2024) and Latavious Morris (2025)

Magdalena (3-0) at Hot Springs (3-1): Some school battle with two teams that will play deep into the postseason. Magdalena enters with a perfect 3-0 record and behind a must-see duo in Kael Stephens and D'Shaun Vinyard.

St. Pius X (3-2) at Los Alamos (2-2): Plenty of question marks surround the teams outside of the top-5 in 4A basketball. This one will allow us to place teams in their correct roles of contenders. St. Pius X entered the season with some hype as a favorite.
