Eastern went 7-5 last season, 6-3 in the LCS and are coached by first-year coach Kelley Lee, who recently coached at Valencia High School (earning Metro Coach of the Year honors in 2011) before becoming offensive coordinator for the Greyhounds in 2012. Eastern has appeared in the last two CHAMPS Heart of Texas Bowl games.

Although missing his entire senior season with a torn ACL, recent Mayfield grad Jalen Guerrero has been offered a full scholarship with the NMSU Aggies. Guerrero, 6'7" and 265, has the size and mobility to be effective at the division one level either on the line on as a tight end. It was a severe loss to the Trojans when Guerrero went down during a 7 on 7 summer game a year ago, but he has responded well to rehab and has moved from preferred walk-on to full scholarship.
