Bustos scored 23 points in a win on Tuesday night putting him within scoring distance of the record. The Dons next face district opponent Taos High School on February 11th.

Outlet Pass: Friday Night Hoops

With district play winding down to their dramatic finishes plenty of upsets and rallies are still left for some teams while others are hanging on to their spots for March tournament life. Here are some of the games we'll be watching.

Piedra Vista (11-12 | 1-4) at Cleveland (7-17 | 1-5)

With last night's loss to Cibola, Cleveland falls back to last place in district. The first meeting between these two was a triple overtime thriller that the Storm won. With Cleveland on the bubble, they'll need to get the win at home or need help in the form of a Santa Fe loss to Clovis to help the Storm with a state tourney bid. Piedra Vista needs the win to regain their footing and move back up the district standings for a better seed or risk possibly falling out of the tournament.

Centennial (13-10 | 5-5) at Las Cruces (16-6 | 4-5)

We figured with the talent and depth in this district there would be drama come this time of the season. Believe me, there's plenty of it. With the race for third place in district still very much in play (with five likely scenarios including a 3-way tie for third coming down to point differential) this game is only the first step in figuring out how this district will close out it's final standings.

Volcano Vista (13-8 | 3-2) at Cibola (15-7 | 4-2)

If either one of these two teams wants to force a playoff game for first place against Rio Rancho, this game is the first leg. Cibola would need to beat VV and then beat Rio Rancho next week to force a one-game playoff. Volcano Vista would need to beat Cibola and then get wins at home against Cleveland and Piedra Vista on back-to-back nights to force a one-game playoff.

Roswell (19-4 | 3-0) at Goddard (15-8 | 1-2)

The second half of district play starts tonight as Roswell will head to Goddard. Goddard is looking to climb their way back out of third place. An upset tonight could set them in the right path, but the Lady Coyotes haven't lost to a 5A team yet this season.

St. Pius X (16-5 | 5-1) at Los Lunas (16-7 | 5-0)

St. Pius X last bid for forcing playoff against Los Lunas comes down to tonight. If St. Pius falters and can't win they'll have to look to Grants and Valencia to beat Los Lunas to force a playoff. Los Lunas is rolling though as they're looking to get their 8th straight win.

Pojoaque Valley (11-11 | 3-2) at St. Michael’s (10-12 | 2-4)

Pojoaque Valley is sitting in second while St. Michael's is sitting in fourth in district. Pojoaque Valley still has a slight chance at forcing a playoff for first place against Robertson if they can win these next two and beat Robertson in their final district game. St. Michael's is looking to move up the district ladder and a win here could help them move up to second place in district.

West Las Vegas (15-8 | 2-3) at Taos (12-12 | 2-4)

As mentioned in the Tuesday Recap, Taos still has a chance to move from fifth place to third, but will need to win their next two, and have some help in the form of district losses to other teams. A West Las Vegas win here can help them make the move back up the district ladder for a better playoff spot.

Silver (17-5 | 6-0) at Socorro (14-10 | 4-2)

A district sweep of Hatch Valley and all Silver needs is this win tonight to clinch first place in district. Socorro's bid for 2nd place in district is still good but they'll need to get the win tonight against Silver and the win against Hatch Valley at home to claim second place.

What games are you looking forward to?
