Notes & Newsworthy
  • Brandon Furbee (Grants High School). The 6-foot-4 quarterback from Grants High School is Division I level ready and the interest is growing by the month. Right now he is the number one ranked QB from the 2022 class.
  • Marco Ybarra (St. Pius X School). If you've reached our top juniors list you are next level ready. Ybarra returns this season on a mission, the talent is there, and his name will only grow with the field time.
  • Ben White (Santa Fe High School). The Demons have one of the must-see players LT/DT this season in 6-foot-3, 260 Lbs Ben White. Don't forget the name as the junior was named 1st team all-district as a sophomore.
  • Abraham Lopez (Highland High School). At one point the Hornets football program was a cellar program. Last season they made a push forward and Lopez will be one to watch for the next two years. Flying well under the radar right now but Lopez could be a special one for the Hornets.
  • Timothy Drennan (West Mesa High School). A newcomer on our radar this off-season is Drennan. This DB plays the assignment well and is one of the hardest hitting DBs out. Doesn't get beat long and reads ball well.

UNM Football and the money

It came to my attention that UNM is using CARES ACT money to travel. I was told that after this weekends game unm is to travel to either Cali or Nevada to bubble for the week before heading to Hawaii to play. Apparently Cares act money is being used to fund this. Not to mention that we hear from the queen how small businesses are struggling and going under and it’s our fault but to hear UNM is using Cares Act money to bubble out of state. That doesn’t sit well. I have provided a link here from UNM board of regents meeting. It will go away after the next meeting. Slide on down to the 2 hour 41 minutes and 40 second mark.
