Gallup High School has hired, 29-year old, Josh Dunlap as the next head coach of the Bengals. Dunlap previously served as the Bengals assistant coach and JV coach during the 2017-2018 season under former head coach James Voight.
This will be his second head coaching job after building the N.A.C.A (Native American Community Academy) from 2012-2015, leading them to their only state tournament appearance in 2015. He has a 37-48 overall record during his three year stint (the program has gone 10-65 since his departure). Dunlap has also spent time as an assistant at Lovington High School (2016-2017).
Dunlap is a Hobbs native and part of the 2008 State Championship team.
