WILLIAM 'DUECE' BENJAMIN |
---|
Las Cruces High School (Las Cruces, NM) |
6-foot-2 | Point Guard |
Player Ranking: Overall: #1 | Class Rank: #1 |
Stat Line: 27 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 5.5 apg |
Skinny: Let's start at the top when talking about the 2022 class. Benjamin is hands down the top player in the classification and New Mexico. Already with one ring on his hand the 2022 prospect looking to add another before leaving LC for Division I basketball. He has a couple of offers at the moment with more on the horizon. |
SEAN JOHNSON |
---|
Sandia High School (Albuquerque, NM) |
6-foot-5 | Wing/Forward |
Player Ranking: Overall: #3 | Class Rank #2 |
Stat Line: 23.1 ppg, 7.4 rbpg, 1.2 blocks |
Skinny: Johnson was a new name on the radar from the 2021 season and he came out with a big showing. The Matadors are back and Johnson is a huge part of why. |
ISAIAH CARR |
---|
Las Cruces High School (Las Cruces, NM) |
6-foot-11 | 220 lbs - Center |
Player Ranking: Overall: #4 | Class #3 |
Stat Line: 14.4 ppg, 9.7 rbpg, 2.9 blocks |
Skinny: The big man from Las Cruces hit the scene last summer with a few great showings in Phoenix and backed it up with a solid junior season. Carr was a solid rim protector, runs the floor well, and finishes well with contact. He currently has three division one offers. |
JOSE MURILLO |
---|
Highland High School (Albuquerque, NM) |
6-foot-9 | 230 lbs |
Player Ranking: Overall: #5 | Class #4 |
Stat Line: 20 ppg, 15.5 rbg, 1.3 blocks |
Skinny: Murillo has been ranked in the top-5 since his sophomore season when he led the Hornets to the state championship game finishing as runner-up. Murillo has some uncertainty as he didn't finish the year with Highland and has played with a club team. If he plays HS hoops this season he will be an all-state player and Highland is a favorite to win it all. |
JA'KWON HILL |
---|
Volcano Vista High School (Albuquerque, NM) |
6-foot-1 | Guard |
Player Ranking: Overall - #6 | Class #5 |
Stat Line: |
Skinny: Volcano Vista has some of the top basketball talent walking through the doors as of late and Hill is among the best of them. Hill will get an even bigger role this Spring as a senior and the more we see him with the ball the more his stock will rise. |
JALEN GOAR |
---|
Hobbs High School (Hobbs, NM) |
6-foot | Guard |
Player Ranking - Overall #9 | Class #6 |
Stat Line: 17 ppg, 4.8 apg, 3 rpg, 2 spg |
Skinny: Jalen Goar has played four years of varsity ball at Hobbs High School something that rarely happens. Goar continues to get better each season and the once known for his shooting abilities (still has them) has also expanded his overall game by penetrating and dropping dimes. He averaged nearly 5 assists per game last season on top of still putting in 17 points a game. |
