Week 11: Friday Night Recap
No. 1 Rio Rancho 52, Piedra Vista 28: The Rio Rancho Rams finish the season perfect at 10-0 and claim the District 1-6A Championship on senior night in Rio Rancho. Piedra Vista ends the season on a 5-game losing streak to end (5-5) on the season.

No. 2 Cleveland 52, No. 5 Volcano Vista 34: The Cleveland Storm received two early touchdowns by Angelo Trujillo passing to Daniel Johnson, one of them a 75-yard touchdown pass on their way to a 9-1 regular season finish. The Storm also take the District 1-6A runner up trophy. Volcano Vista finished third place with a (7-3) record.

No. 4 Manzano 42, Sandia 7: The Manzano Monarchs claim the District 2-6A title on Friday night improving their overall record to (8-2) on the season. Sandia will end their season (3-7). The Monarchs jumped out early in the game and never looked back.

No. 9 Clovis 21, No. 10 La Cueva 18: In battle for the District 2-6A runner up finish the Clovis Wildcats fought from a first quarter deficit to win 21-18. The Wildcats move to (7-3) on the season with La Cueva falling to (6-4) to end the regular season.

No. 12 Roswell 22, No. 13 Goddard 14: With the District title on the line Friday night the Roswell Coyotes stall the Rockets for the title with a 22-14 win. The Roswell Coyotes finish as District 4-5A runner up at (8-2) on the season. Goddard drops to third place with a (6-4) record.

No. 14 Artesia 55, Lovington 3: The Artesia Bulldogs claim the District 4-5A title with a win over Lovington and Goddard loss on the night. The Bulldogs enter the playoffs with a 8-2 record. Lovington ends the 2016 with a 1-9 record.

No. 16 Belen 34, Grants 0: The Belen Eagles and Grants Pirates only played three quarters on Friday night but the Eagles earn the win and finish the season (8-2) and are District 5-5A runner up. Grants will end the season (5-5) and will await their playoff fate on Saturday night.

No. 17 Robertson 57, Pojoaque Valley 6: The Robertson Cardinals end the season with a perfect (10-0) record, one of two teams in New Mexico, with the 57-6 win over Pojoaque Valley. The Cardinals are currently ranked number one in 4A football.

No. 18 Los Lunas 69, Valencia 19: The Los Lunas Tigers will finish third in District 5-5A with the 50-point win over crosstown foe Valencia. The Tigers improve their record to (7-3) on the season. Valencia will end their 2016 campaign with a (1-8-1) record.

No. 19 Carlsbad 39, Hobbs 0: Ending the season with two shutout victories the Carlsbad Cavemen end their season (4-6) doubling their win total from 2015. The Hobbs Eagles will end their season (2-8). Jakyan Willis a stud running back started the night with a 1-yard touchdown for the Cavemen.

No. 20 Estancia 54, Laguna-Acoma: The top 3A ranked Estancia Bears finished the 2016 regular season ranked number one in 3A with a (9-1) record. Laguna-Acoma ends the season with a (6-4) record with the loss.

No. 21 Alamogordo 41, Deming 0: Kyle Hooper, one of the top quarterbacks in the state, led the way for the Tigers on 360-passing yards and 5-touchdowns. The Alamogordo Tigers win the District 3-5A title and improve their record to (6-4) heading to State. Deming will finish the season (0-10) with the loss. Alamogordo receiver had 188-yards and 2-touchdowns in an impressive showing.
No. 22 Portales 40, NMMI 16: The Portales Rams were led by quarterback Junior Ramirez who scored two rushing touchdowns and passed for another as the Rams win the District Championship. Portales improves to (9-1) on the season with the win. NMMI will fall to (3-7) on the season with the loss.

No. 23 Aztec 28, Miyamura 14: After digging a 14-point hole to the Miyamura Patriots the Aztec Tigers scored 28-unanswered points on their way to the District 1-5A Championship. Aztec improves their record to (7-3). The Miyamura Patriots fall to (7-3) on the seaosn.

No. 24 Moriarty 50, Ruidoso 13: After losing their first game of the season the Moriarty Pintos ran over the Ruidoso Warriors 50-13 on Friday night. The Pintos end the regular season with a (9-1) record. Ruidoso ends the season .500 with a (5-5) record as they await their playoff position.

No. 25 Farmington 56, Bloomfield 20: Farmington quarterback Kody Becenti hit his stride on Friday night connecting for a few touchdowns as the 25th ranked Scorpions top Bloomfield 56-20. The Scorpions end the season (4-5-1) and will wait for the selection show on Friday to find their placement. Bloomfield ends the season (4-6) and will likely miss the 2016 State playoffs.

Injury: Cleveland lost QB Angelo Trujillo to an injury but the Storm prevailed.
Rebound: Hatch Pounds Hot Springs, 50-0.
Well That Hurts: Raton beats Tucucmari 50-0, Rattlers might be staying home for State.
Hitting A Stride: Los Lunas, yes it was to 1-win Valencia but they are getting healthy.
