Coach: Charlie Dotson, Eldorado
1745505.jpg

How many coaches or programs in New Mexico could lose a prospect such as Zach Gentry, the 6-foot-7, 245 pound Michigan Commit and just keep on winning without skipping a beat? Dotson and his staff have continued their winning ways at Eldorado, currently the Eagles are 5-0 heading into week 6 after an impressive 49-28 win against Mayfield. Over the last two-seasons Eldorado has won their last 15 out of 17 games.

Team: Centennial Hawks
Did you know that Centennial is 4-0 against Las Cruces competion all-time? Last Friday night the Hawks defeated Las Cruces 42-35 to move to 5-0 on the season and currently remain the No. 1 ranked team in Class 5A, they are No. 3 overall in the NMPreps.com Top 25 Rankings. This season, Centennial’s offense has been on fire: Scoring 36, 55, 44, 48, and 42 points. They take on Los Lunas in week 6 as they begin district play.

Eldorado Eagle Senior Jayce Jackson is a 4-year starter. Let’s rewind two-weeks against Onate. Amaya threw for over 300-yards and 6 touchdown passes. Hobbs JV Wins 63-12, 5-0, Scoring 272-12

At Artesia last night the Hobbs Eagles JV won 63-12 with the game being stopped in the 3rd quarter. We did not make it to that game but we did watch the Hobbs Freshman team beat Goddard by three touchdowns. That was followed by the Hobbs C team playing the Lovington JV at Watson Stadium. Quote of the night...Coach Gleghorn got so upset watching the game that he went to the middle of the field and screamed at the huddled refs..."You guys are just making stuff up!!!" You could hear him all the way to the pressbox. I had to laugh.
