The summer session is over and most programs slide the basketballs back into the cage. Many basketball players turn in their KD’s for football cleats (I don’t know a popular cleat). To end the summer I want to share something that might get people talking.

Today, I release a summer review to preview of next season. The rankings will change drastically by November 1st, 2015 but for fun or debate here we go.

CRYSTAL BALL TO NOVEMBER
THE SUMMER TOO EARLY PRESEASON RANKINGS (Will Change by November)
1. Hope Christian
2. Portales
3. West Las Vegas
4. Silver
5. Bloomfield
6. St. Michael's
7. Robertson
8. Ruidoso
9. Sandia Prep
10. Hatch Valley
11. Taos
12. Pojoaque Valley
13. Kirtland Central
14. Shiprock
15. Cobre
16. Santa Fe Indian
17. Wingate
18. NMMI
19. Bosque
20. Socorro
21. Thoreau
22. Hot Springs
23. East Mountain
24. Zuni
Skinny: Gave myself :30 seconds to rank all 4A teams. It was difficult and more difficult than doing the 4A. Don’t know if I’m sold on how it came out but with :30 it is what I am thinking. Plenty of question marks and the field is deeper for 5-15 spots and you could play musical chairs.

CRYSTAL BALL TO END OF DISTRICTS
DISTRICT PREDICTION
District 1-4A

1. Bloomfield 9-1
2. Kirtland Central 8-2
3. Shiprock 6-4
4. Wingate 5-5
5. Thoreau 2-8
6. Zuni 0-10
Quick Hit: Bloomfield and Kirtland Central split taking the home game but Wingate hits a last second three on KC to give the second loss. Shiprock beats the cellar teams but drops all four to Bloomfield and KC.

District 2-4A
1. West Las Vegas 5-1
2. Robertson 3-3
3. Taos 2-4
4. Pojoaque Valley 2-4
Quick Hit: The district only improves with a more experience Robertson team this year. Robertson steals a contest from West Las Vegas at home late in District play to reflect seed at state.

District 3-4A
1. Silver 7-1
2. Hatch Valley 6-2
3. Cobre 5-3
4. Socorro 1-7
5. Hot Springs 1-7
Quick Hit: Silver is a clear favorite and drops one early contest before State to Hatch Valley. Cobre did work under first year HC last season. Hatch has been on the rise and it's pay off season.

District 4-4A
1. Portales 6-0
2. Ruidoso 4-2
3. NMMI 2-4
4. East Mountain 0-6
Quick Hit: Portales again walks through the district. Ruidoso however gives them a scare, their best players were sophomores last season. NMMI returns a big point guard and much in year two of their HC. .

District 4-5A
1. Hope Christian 8-0
2. St. Michael's 5-3
3. Sandia Prep 4-4
4. Santa Fe Indian 2-6
5. Bosque 1-7
Quick Hit: Hope. Sandia Prep will be much improved and get one from St. Mike's but drop one to SFIS.

3. Silver v. 6. St. Michael's
4. West Las Vegas v. 5 Bloomfield
News: Prep and Valley get the upsets, big man for Prep too much for Cards. Kirtland lost on a final shot to end upset bid of West.

Final Four
1 Hope v. 4. West Las Vegas
2. Portales v. 3 Silver
Headline: The four best teams square off to end the season.

Championship
3. Silver over 1 Hope: Would it be fun if in June I said what we all know. Anyhow, I have always liked the Silver teams coach by Brandon and miracles happen, just saying'.

Reminder it's okay to disagree or debate how any should look. You should tell me why I am wrong it lets us talk hoops and pass time during these summer hours.

USWNT vs China

This is gonna be a HUGE ratings getter.

I hope the quality of the game lives up to the hype....well there hasnt been much mainstream hype, but you get what I mean.

The US is missing two key midfielders (Rapinoe and Holiday) so how will they line up? THey should have enough fitness and depth to pull it off, but China isnt exactly gonna roll over. If the US gets an early goal, it will be a long day for China.

If China can frustrate the US and take them deep into the closing 15minutes, there might be a shot of an upset.

Busy Tuesday of Soccer

Three excellent games to enjoy on a Tuesday afternoon/evening"

UEFA U21 Championship: Portugal v Sweden
This is not the match up most predicted. Portugal has been pounding the competition. They demolished the German U21 team 5-1!!!! Everyone had the German kids pegged to win it all and keep the strong German tournament streak going.
Lots of great talent on the field, if you get a chance, find a stream for this game or check it out on ESPN3.

Copa America Semi-Final: Argentina v Paraguay
Chile locked up their spot in the final tonight (Monday). Whoever wins this game might really just be playing for 2nd place. Argentina has been winning by the narrowest of margins, but they are Argentina: Messi, Di Maria, Aguero, Mascherano, Otamendi.....they will hopefully start finding the back of the net in this game cuz they will need ALL the help to beat a defensive Paraguay and maybe Chile in their home stadium.

WWC Semi-Final: USA v Germany
The USA looked better vs China. They have proven me wrong each game...dont know if I should reverse curse them and actually pick them to win, or keep picking against them. Its an intriguing match up, the best defense (USA) vs the best offense (GER). They Germans had to work hard and survive the PK shoot out vs France. The US got to rest Rapinoe and Holiday so this will hopefully be a great nightcap to a loaded Tuesday of futbol.
