FRIDAY HOOPS

This Game Is More Intriguing: Silver (7-3) at Alamogordo (2-9). Silver one of the best teams in 4A basketball. The two faced on the 12th of December a 56-39 Silver win. However, Alamogordo is playing improved as their studs get going.

Santa Fe Delight: Santa Fe (4-6) at St. Michael's (5-3). Santa Fe could use a win here and if St. Mike's wins their district this would be a resume win. St. Michael's earned a huge win over Capital earlier this week. Can they continue to roll?

Bubble/Seed Type of Game: Goddard (5-5) vs Valencia (3-9). Valencia is somewhat of a wildcard this season and a team you can't sleep on. Goddard a solid squad that could use this as they will need all 5A wins on their resume.

Eddy County Rumble: Artesia (4-2) at Carlsbad (3-6). Artesia continues to play regional rivals before the holiday break. After a win over Hobbs last night they look to be the favorite against another 6A.

Best Game of the Night: Las Cruces (10-0) at Roswell (7-4). Two of the top basketball programs from southern New Mexico. Also, a match up between two of the top front court players in RJ Brown (LCHS) and Logan Eaker (RHS).

Contender/Pretender: Espanola Valley (7-0) at Kirtland Central (7-1). Who is a top three/four team in 5A basketball? Well, tonight we can answer part of that question.

Fundraising Ideas

Just curious to see what other program do to raise money. In Lovington we do a dodgeball tournament, sell New Era hats, Sponsor Signs, & sell fan gear. Also our Pack the Park Night was really big, we promoted the game, gave out free food & shirts to a few fans every half inning. We had about 600 people there to watch us play Portales last year.

When I was in Los Lunas we did this big Christmas craft fair. One year I organized a Call of Duty Tournament & first prize was a TV, Xbox, & a copy of the game. It was a pretty successful turn out.

The big one we did at Pojoaque was a Valentine's Day Dinner. You would buy tickets to a players table & he would be your waiter for the night. Whichever 3 kids had the most change in their tip jar at the end of the night won a prize.
